This summer, the ISE department hosted 24 rising 11th and 12th graders for a week of fun and education as part of The Engineering Place Residential Summer Camp Program. The students took a deep dive into learning all about Industrial and Systems Engineering through hands-on experiences and informative discussions with ISE faculty and graduate students.
The campers visited our state of the art labs including Advanced Manufacturing, Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality, and Biomechanics labs. They also took a whirl on a driving simulator and let’s just say they’ve got some practicing to do! But by far the majority of the campers favorite part of the week was taking a spin on our Loomo Personal Segways and operating Spot, our Boston Dynamics robot dog.
Throughout the week, the campers also worked in groups to complete a creative project in Fusion 360 which they showcased to all of their family and friends on the last day of camp. We hope they had a wonderful time visiting our department and look forward to potentially seeing them join the Wolfpack in the future!
