Processes Laboratory | NC State ISE
Welcome to the ISE Processes Lab
The Processes Laboratory is equipped with the latest technologies in material forming/shaping, molding, removal, casting and joining equipment. Built as an open teaching laboratory, the student experience begins at the sophomore level and continues throughout the rest of one’s undergraduate career.
Students learn fundamental processes and then “put to practice” the theories learned in classroom instruction.
The laboratory is staffed by a full-time machinist who is assisted by several seasoned graduate students. It is the hub for all manufacturing-based projects stemming from courses and research initiatives. With a computing workstation and multimedia devices, the laboratory also serves as classroom and meeting functions that relate to its mission.
