A machine shop is a potentially dangerous and unfortunately, sometimes deadly<\/a>, place to work. Protect yourself by being aware of hazards and their causes. A few of which are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eye Injuries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  • Chips from machining operations<\/li>
  • Shrapnel from broken tools<\/li>
  • Chemicals splashed in eyes \u2013 chemical fumes<\/li>
  • Welding radiation<\/li>
  • Impact with protruding stock<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Cuts, Abrasions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    • Sharp edges on stock or workpiece<\/li>
    • Cutting tools<\/li>
    • Pinch points<\/li>
    • Chips from machining operations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Chemical Reactions\/Burns<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      • Skin and eye contact<\/li>
      • Inhalation of nocuous fumes<\/li>
