Criteria for the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award
- The nominee must have graduated from the department with at least one of its designated degrees. We include candidates with affiliated degrees advised by an ISE department faculty member, including Engineering Operations, Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Engineering Management and Operations Research.
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE)
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Furniture Manufacturing (BSIE, FM)
- Bachelor of Science in Furniture Manufacturing and Management (BSFMM)
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering Operations (BSEO)
- Master of Industrial Engineering (MIE)
- Master of Operations Research (MOR)
- Master of Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MIMSE)
- Master of Engineering Management (MEM)
- Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE)
- Master of Science in Operations Research (MSOR)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering (Ph.D.)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Operations Research (Ph.D.)
- The nominee must:
- Have graduated for 10 years or more before the award year
- Not be a current employee in the Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State University
- Have a continuous record of exceptional integrity and sound character
ISE PRO TIP: Please identify any noteworthy community and/or public service, as well as commendable service to the industrial engineering profession, including service to their alma mater.
You can submit your outstanding young alumnus nomination at any time, but we accept nominations only through August 1st each year. At the first faculty meeting of the school year each fall, the faculty will select award winners. The new award winners receive recognition at our annual event each year in October.
