Diesta Maftuhah is a Ph.D. student in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State. Her academic interests include operations research, system modeling, simulation and industrial planning.
Before joining NC State, Maftuhah developed extensive teaching and research experience in Indonesia. She has served as a lecturer at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember since 2014. There, she has taught operations research, engineering statistics, system dynamics, simulation and engineering economy. Additionally, she has supervised student research, supported international programs and contributed to community development projects.
Maftuhah earned a Master of Engineering in industrial engineering from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. She also completed a business engineering exchange program at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Her work includes research publications and a patent for a web-based Halal Auditor Information System.
Throughout her career, Maftuhah has earned several honors for academic achievement and innovation. These include the Best Presenter Award at the 2019 International Conference on Industrial Technology.
