Bio

Anita Vila-Parrish has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She currently serves as Head of Product Management for Pharmacy Services at Amazon Pharmacy. There, Vila-Parrish leads projects that create innovative solutions for pharmacists, patients and prescribers. As a result, her work supports Amazon’s goal of making healthcare simpler and more effective.

Before joining Amazon Pharmacy, Vila-Parrish served as Senior Director of Product at McKesson and Ontada. Her team developed products that helped oncologists identify treatment options for more than one million patients. In addition, she worked in research and academia, where she published 18 refereed articles and two book chapters. She also received research grants from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

Vila-Parrish earned several awards for teaching and student advising. Furthermore, she holds a Ph.D. and bachelor’s degree from NC State along with master’s degrees from Duke University and Texas A&M. Today, Vila-Parrish lives in Raleigh and enjoys mentoring students about healthcare technology and career growth.
