Bio

Brennan Weiss is a senior studying Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Material Science. When he isn’t in Fitts-Woolard Hall, he is at Carter-Finley Stadium or Lenovo Center or Reynolds Coliseum.

Weiss serves as sports editor for the student newspaper Technician, a design team lead for Engineers Without Borders, and volunteers time to the Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics and a local law firm.

He enjoys reading, writing and playing soccer, and values community above almost all else, so he’s found NC State to be a perfect fit.

Why ISE

Like many in the department, Weiss enjoys the art of making things cheaper, faster and more efficient. He was thrilled to discover a whole discipline of engineering dedicated to it. He also recognized that its faculty and older students made up a supportive and communal framework, aligning with his values.

Why Ambassador

Weiss became an ambassador to help other students feel welcome in the department as others had done for him. He enjoys representing a program that he is very happy to be a part of. The opportunity to meaningfully connect with and guide other students was an instant sell, and he had been doing that the whole time anyway.
