Bio

Juan Camacho serves as the Laboratory Manager for the Bezos Center for Sustainable Protein at NC State. He oversees daily laboratory operations and supports research that advances sustainable protein technologies. Before joining NC State in 2026, Camacho worked as a Scientist III at Jellatech, where he helped develop innovative biotechnology solutions. Prior to Jellatech, Camacho was an ORISE Fellow with the US FDA.

He earned a Master of Science from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Camacho combines laboratory management expertise with a strong scientific background to support research, collaboration and innovation across the center.
