Mahmud Khan is a Ph.D. student in the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State.
Before joining NC State, Khan served as an assistant professor at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh. He held that position for nearly seven years before beginning his graduate studies at NC State. Khan earned his master’s degree in industrial engineering from NC State in 2024.
In 2026, Khan earned runner-up honors in the IISE Doctoral Colloquium 3-Minute Thesis Pitch Competition. There, he presented his research on biofabrication strategies for knee meniscus tissue engineering.
