Bio
Pinar Keskinocak serves as chair and professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. In addition, she co-founded and directs the Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems. Before joining Georgia Tech, Keskinocak worked at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. She also served in leadership roles supporting faculty development and engineering research at Georgia Tech.
Keskinocak earned her doctorate in Operations Research from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University. Throughout her career, Keskinocak has focused on healthcare systems, operations research and humanitarian applications.
Keskinocak is an INFORMS Fellow and served as president of INFORMS in 2020. Moreover, she held several leadership positions within the organization, including secretary and vice president roles. She also founded and led multiple INFORMS groups supporting healthcare, public sector research and women in operations research.
In addition, Keskinocak has served in editorial leadership roles for several major academic journals. Through these positions, she continues advancing research and collaboration within industrial engineering and operations research.
