Md Tanvir Ahmmed Fahim was born and raised in Bangladesh. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. From his early undergraduate years he developed a strong interest in research, which led him to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE).
His long-term career goal is to become a distinguished professor and researcher. Alongside his academic ambitions Fahim values maintaining a balanced life. He enjoys playing badminton and video games and also has an interest in cricket, table tennis and chess. While he avoids football and volleyball due to their higher risk of injury, he remains active through his preferred sports.
His favorite video games include Genshin Impact, King of Fighters and PUBG Mobile, although he plays less frequently now. Fahim is Muslim and practicing his faith is a central priority in his life.

His research focuses on developing deterministic and stochastic models of complex systems to identify underlying bottlenecks and quantify opportunities for improving system resilience and reliability.
