Nick Steinlage

I am a Senior in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the past couple of years in this field! I was born in Kansas, but my family has spent the last 15 years in Cary, North Carolina. We still go back every year or so to see my extended family!

I came to NC State seeking an Engineering degree, but was unsure which field would be my best fit. I am very grateful to be in the ISE program, as it offers classes that clearly align with my goals for the future- an Engineer with strong business acumen.

I have gained great experience through internships in the construction and medical devices industries. The ISE program is very supportive of helping students find real-world experiences in fields of interest. I have also gained leadership experience through the program as a Camp Counselor for the Engineering Summer Camp that NC State hosts for highschoolers interested in joining Engineering programs, as well as leadership roles in other campus organizations.
