Yamil Essus

Yamil Essus is a Ph.D. student in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department working in modeling community systems to understand and quantify the impacts of technological and social changes on the ability of communities to withstand natural hazards using statistical and data visualization tools. He also enjoys learning about ML and computer science in general. When not in school, he might be trying to cook something new, playing video games or at a music concert.

Research Interests

Essus is interested in simulation and data science research applications in sustainability and community resilience. He is currently working on assessing the impact of electric vehicles on access to essential services.
