The ISE Department partners with industry leaders and alumni to create meaningful opportunities for collaboration. Below are nine ways to connect with ISE and support shared success.

In addition, we welcome new ideas. If you have a different way to partner with us, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can explore creative opportunities that benefit your organization, our students and the broader ISE community.

9 Ways to Partner with ISE

1. Project Opportunities

ISE’s Senior Design and Healthcare Systems Engineering projects give you access to a team of talented ISE students focused on solving a real challenge at your company. You gain fresh ideas, data-driven recommendations and a final project report while evaluating potential future hires. At the same time, students apply their skills to deliver practical solutions that create value for your organization.

2. Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering with the department allows you to make a direct impact on student success while staying connected to NC State. Participate in one-time events such as judging Senior Design Day projects, reviewing resumes before Engineering Career Fairs, and participating in mock interviews. You can join ongoing programs, such as sponsoring a senior design or healthcare systems engineering project. In return, you help prepare future professionals while building meaningful connections with students, faculty and fellow alums.

3. Philanthropy and Sponsorship

Your support helps us strengthen programs that benefit students, faculty and industry partners. In particular, gifts to the ISE Enhancement Fund provide flexible resources where they are needed most.

As a result, the department can respond quickly to new opportunities and unexpected challenges. In addition, your support helps expand graduate fellowships, undergraduate scholarships and other high-impact initiatives that advance education, research and student success.

4. Presentation and Learning Opportunities in the Classroom

Volunteering with the department allows you to make a lasting impact on student success. You can work with student organizations to host a company information session, participate in panels or give class presentations. These opportunities help students connect classroom learning to real-world challenges while exploring co-op, internship and full-time career opportunities. In addition, you can build relationships with talented students and recruit future employees for your organization. Furthermore, you can share industry insights and help prepare the next generation of engineering leaders.

For more information, contact Karen Welton | [email protected] | 919.515.6405.

5. Summer Camp Opportunities

You can connect with future ISE students through class presentations and hands-on activities. Through these experiences, you can show students what industrial engineers do in the real world. In addition, you can help them see how ISE skills solve practical problems across many industries.

6. Industry Research Opportunities

Partnering with ISE on research gives your organization access to faculty expertise, advanced analytical methods and talented students. In addition, you gain fresh perspectives and data-driven recommendations that can improve efficiency, support decision-making and create a competitive advantage.

At the same time, students gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting. Consequently, both you and the student benefit from a meaningful learning opportunity that can lead to future employment.
