Incoming freshmen with a passion for engineering will have the opportunity to live on campus in a “learning and living village” set to open in the fall. Engineering Village will house 117 students on the top three floors of Metcalf Residence Hall.
Engineering Village is small, interest-based community where students live and engage around a common theme, engineering. They also help new students find their place, make connections, build community and feel like more than a number on a campus with nearly 35,000 students.
University Housing currently operates 11 villages in residence halls across campus, including Arts Village, Global Village and Women in Science and Engineering Village.
Engineering Village will serve students entering the First Year Engineering Program in the College of Engineering, providing academic support and career exploration opportunities. The village will also employ upper-class engineering students to serve as mentors to help students as they transition into their engineering major.
