ISE was featured in a segment on NBC 17 about the Engineering Career Fair!
On the heels of President Barack Obama’s visit, the College of Engineering hosted nearly 200 companies for the largest engineering career fair in the country.
Industrial and systems engineering is considered a particularly desirable engineering degree and more than one third of the companies were looking for workers in that field which includes such cutting edge areas as 3-D printing, regenerative medicine and health systems engineering.
ISE professor and director of undergraduate programs, Dr. Anita Vila-Parrish, said that 3-D printing is becoming more and more desirable because of the ability to print custom parts. “So we have really great labs where students get exposure here,” she said.
Organizers said about 3,500 job-seekers attended the engineering career fair.
