The NC State Athletic Department hosted its 2018 Wolfie Awards, a showcase for the best of Wolfpack athletics and academics. For the second year in a row, ISE’s scholar-athletes came through.
Anton Ipsen
Senior Anton Ipsen received the H.C. Kennett Award, which is NC State’s highest athletic award given to a male and female athlete who demonstrates the finest attributes of sportsmanship and team play. He also received the ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. It recognizes the top male and female scholar-athlete at each ACC institution. The respective honorees must be in their last year of athletic competition, earned a varsity letter in a conference-sponsored sport, and have a top-five GPA in their gender.
NC State recognized Ipsen and his fellow national champions from the 2017-18 season.
AJ Cole III
Senior AJ Cole received the Heart of the Pack Award, which is given to student-athletes who exemplify the following criteria:
- Teammate: exhibiting selfless sacrifice to benefit the team
- Effort: consistently giving a great effort
- Attitude: demonstrating a positive and can-do attitude
- Mindfulness: thinking outside of oneself and finding ways to impact and encourage others
