“Every year at Day of Giving, ISE punches above its weight, and this year was no exception,” explained Wanda Urbanska, ISE’s Director of Development. This year, on March 22, the ISE community came together to raise $73,936 spread over 257 gifts — the second highest in the College behind only Civil Engineering (CCEE). “What’s more, our numbers for DOG this year are the highest in five years of doing this,” exclaimed Urbanska, “Bravo!”
The College of Engineering raised over $6.5 million throughout NC State’s Day of Giving, ranking second only to VetMed in the university’s $34,019,746 total. We engineers are still trying to figure out a way to compete in the adorable pet department,” joked Urbanska. Additionally, ISE and CCEE teamed together the night before to host a Day of Giving BBQ. People were able to socialize and network over a BBQ dinner. Afterward, alums and others took tours of the labs and facilities. ISE Department head Dr. Julie Swann closed the evening with a departmental update to a riveted group of alums and others.
YOU made this year’s Day of Giving yet another record success. Your gifts have a real impact, ranging from financial aid for high school students to attend our summer camps to scholarships that allow them to travel abroad and experience ideas they would never have found here.
“I am so touched by the many stakeholders of ISE, the College of Engineering, and the university, who came together on Day of Giving,” declared Swann. “The generosity will enable us to serve our core missions related to education, knowledge generation, and impact on our community, state, and world. The Wolfpack is stronger because of you!”
