Every year, the US News & World Report releases a list of top schools in the nation, and we are proud to announce that the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering broke into the list of top 10 industrial engineering departments in the nation. This ranking is reflective of a department that has fundamentally redefined itself over the course of the past few years.
Our graduates consistently rate the ISE department for highest marks of satisfaction, and why wouldn’t they when 90% of undergraduate students have found employment by their graduation date (Fall 2011), as well as have an average starting salary above their peers in other engineering fields.
The department will celebrate this wonderful achievement on April 12 at the University Club located off of Hillsborough Street starting at 5:00pm. During the ceremony Alpha Pi Mu, our honors engineering society, will hold their annual initiation followed by dinner, an awards recognition, scholarship winners, and then a presentation about our top 10 achievement.
Thank you all for making this achievement possible.
