ISE’s Andrew Knizner named to the CoSIDA’s Academic All-District First Team
The College Sports information Directors of America (CoSIDA) named ISE junior Andrew Knizner, a member of NC State’s baseball team, to it’s Academic All-District First Team on Thursday.
Members of the All-District Team will move on to compete for All-America honors later this month.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams honor the nation’s top student-athletes for their performances on the field and in the classroom.
Knizner who catches for the Wolfpack, has a batting average of .290. In the classroon, he carries an even more impressive 3.98 grade point average. In his three years at NC State Knizner has received:
- 2014 ACC Academic Honor Roll
- 2014 All-America honors from Perfect Game
- Freshman All-America from NCBWA
- Freshman All-America from Louisville Slugger
- All-ACC third team honors
- 2015 ACC Academic Honor Roll
- 2015 All-ACC second team honors
- 2016 preseason third team All-America from Louisville Slugger
Knizner is one of 11 varsity student-athletes currently enrolled in the Department. ISE has football, baseball, women’s basketball, track and field, swimming and diving, and cross country team members. Many of whom have received multiple academic and athletic awards.
Jonathan Addison received ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Year and ACC All-Academic Team honors this spring. He will be competing for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team this July. Also this spring, Ashley WIlliams received the Kay Yow Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, All-ACC Women’s Basketball Academic Team honors, and CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors. See all her achievements at Best Day Ever!.
Sophomore Anton Ipsen will be swimming for the Danish Men’s Olympic Team this summer in Rio.
