Students and faculty showcased their world-class research in biomedical manufacturing, health systems, and logistics at the largest industrial and systems engineering event of the year, The IISE Conference.
Highlighting the conference was Ph.D. student Pedro Huebner winning the Doctoral Colloquium Poster Competition for the biomedical research titled, “Effect of 3D-Bioplotted Scaffold Design on Fiber Alignment and Elastic Modulus of Cell-Secreted Extracellular Matrix In Vivo.” Early this spring, Huebner became the first NC State student to Win IISE’s Gilbreth Scholarship to continue his research. See IISE Votes for Pedro for more details.
The Department kicked off the conference with a celebratory breakfast for Tim McGlothlin in honor of his election to President-Elect of IISE.
