Fitts-Woolard Hall, ISE’s newest building on NC State’s Centennial Campus, opened in summer 2020.
The new facility on Centennial’s engineering oval is not only ISE’s home, but the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and the dean’s administration.
The Department’s original move-in plans have been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions it has placed on the NC State campus. While some classrooms are being used during the spring 2021 semester, the transition into lab spaces and offices is ongoing and not all labs in Fitts-Woolard Hall are fully operational.
The Department has delayed scheduling an in-person dedication ceremony and most ISE alumni haven’t had a chance to visit the new building. But the Department worked with the NC State Alumni Association to offer a virtual tour of the facility with our department head Julie Swann as well as Dean Louis Martin-Vega and CCEE department head Mort Barlaz.
The tour was broadcast online on Feb. 22, 2021, along with an online Q&A session about the building.
